2017 BPA Conference

Psychodrama and Sociodrama ProgrammeRegister
Creativity! Collaboration! Community!

We are excited to introduce and announce the vision for the 2017 BPA Conference for Psychodrama and Sociodrama: Creativity! Collaboration! Community! – Showcasing what is uniquely powerful about Morenian methods of working and the impact we all enjoy when collaborating with other modalities of group and individual development and healing.

We welcome new partnerships as well as seek to strengthen the sense of community that already exists within the world of Psychodrama and Sociodrama. We are bound by our passion and belief in the methods and this is an opportunity to experience them from people within our community and beyond.

The Early Bird fees have been frozen so please use those when you book. Michael Watson Trust bursaries are still available as well.

Rollo Browne, Director of Training at Psychodrama Australia, Sydney Campus, is our plenary facilitator.

“What is it that makes psychodrama work? It is my belief that the methodology is built upon a number of principles that arise out of a profound understanding of the human condition and what nourishes the human spirit in each of us. At the heart of Moreno’s philosophy is the belief in creative genius that is in each of us. Yet, what is it that assists us to access our creative genius? If it were a matter of will power or intellect it would be easy. But it is not.

The principles that support the expression of the creative genius are to do with the nature of group life, with the use of action and with the flow of spontaneity. The psychodrama director structures the group life to build sufficient inclusion and connectedness, so that a participant can step out onto the stage and enact what truly matters to them. When such actions are aligned to their inner being or psyche, then spontaneity flows. Psychodrama, sociodrama, sociometry and role training as action methods are particularly effective in encouraging spontaneity to the point that something new gets created.”

Rollo will also be delivering the pre-conference workshop, Developing Potency and Presence as a Psychodrama Director, with Peter Hall from July 4 – 6. 2017. For more details, click here.
